What is a Cannula?
Cannula is a plastic tube which is sited into a vein with an assistance of a guiding needle, once cannula is sited, needle can be removed but long & thin plastic tube remains into a vein.
What is it use for
It is commonly in use in hospitals, it can be used for fluids, medications for enhanced effects

Why phlebotomy knowledge is desirable
Phlebotomy and cannulation is similar until the vein location; cannulation becomes more invasive as you have to create an access into a vein
What is vein mapping
Vein mapping is a technique to find out the direction of a vein as you would need to hold a cannula exactly into that direction. It will also help you to assess vein’s health and length.
Why cannulas come in different colours
It’s the size/gauge of a cannula. Lower the Gauge, bigger the needle.
Are we going to practice a cannula on each other
ABSOLUTLEY NOT!

We will use state of the art simulation arms.

 

I am an aesthetic; would I learn about IV vitamin therapies
You will learn about how to insert a successful cannula; you can use it in many ways.
