Advance Phlebotomy Training Program
The Advanced Phlebotomy Training comprises approximately 6 weeks where a trainee will attend one session per week for a period of 6 weeks. The training will only be carried out at the GP practice. Our GP practice runs on Thursday & Friday from 08.30 till 13.30 +/-. As per estimate, we bleed 40-45 patients a day. The GP is located at Chadwell Heath. Usually, there will be one more trainee therefore you might have to share patients with him/her.
This training is ideal for those who have already achieved beginner competency level 3 either from the UK or from any part of the world.
The first one or 2 sessions will be supervised; however, for the remaining sessions, we expect you to perform independently. We always assess our trainees for the performance, pace and quality and we aim to correct any flaws on the spot.
During The Training, You Will Certainly Learn
- How to assess patients’ blood test form
- Which vials to select
- How to use butterfly needles
- How to use straight needles
- How to locate a difficult vein
- Needle insertion (angle) techniques
- How to maintain patients’ confidentiality and dignity
- How to overcome any potential complications.
Before you start
You must provide evidence of Valid Enhanced DBS
Hep B Vaccination (1st dose) minimum. Please contact your GP or get it done as a private from Boots or other pharmacy
Duration
The entire period of six weeks will be counted as an experience and by the end an evidence and certificate will be provided. The duration can extend to 8 -10 weeks due to any unforeseen circumstances (Sickness/ bank holidays etc. etc) in which case the experience letter will be provided for the entire period, and we will not ask for any extra payment.
Cost
Altogether, this training cost you £450.00 which you be paid either in person (in few instalments) or through the bank transfer (The Bank details will be provided)
Registration
Once you are ready to proceed, a weekly schedule will be sent to you via email. You will also receive reading materials via email.
